All five board members felt there was
enough evidence in the investigation to terminate the
superintendent After receiving preliminary information from
an investigation into the professional conduct of
Superintendent Mike Merlino, the Evergreen School Board of
Directors voted 4-1 to terminate him using the “no cause”
provision of his contract during a special Board meeting,
today, Thu., Dec. 16.

The School Board has stated the
investigation, conducted by an outside third-party
investigator, is expected to be concluded in the next
several weeks On Tuesday (Dec. 7), the Evergreen School
Board of Directors placed Superintendent Mike Merlino on
administrative leave pending the conclusion of an
investigation. The School Board of Directors, led by
President Victoria Bradford, will retain oversight of the
district.
