LifePac Interview:

Bonnie Carter is a nine-year incumbent on Camas City Council.  LifePac recently discussed various issues of local concern with her for the 2023 election.

On the commercialization of marijuana for Camas, Ms. Carter remains opposed.  In 2015, Camas Council voted 5-2 against permitting marijuana retail sales.  Ms. Carter voted with the majority in prohibiting sales.  Ms. Carter holds the same position today, opposed to the commercialization of marijuana in Camas.  She believes access is sufficient through Vancouver outlets and that prohibiting marijuana commercialization reduces the adverse secondary effects of addiction-related homelessness and access by minors.  More information on marijuana policy here at Waalm.org.

Regarding city government form, either Mayor/Council/Administrator or Council/Manager, Ms. Carter noted the benefits of each arrangement, but did not express a preference.  Camas currently has a Mayor/Council/Administrator form of government, which is LifePac’s strong preference.  More information on Form of Government here at RealMayor.org.
